What it actually does

Pocket is a tiny recording device that clips magnetically onto the back of your phone. Tap it to record a meeting, a site visit, a client chat or even both sides of a phone call, and the Pocket app writes up a transcript, a summary and a list of to-dos for you. It works out who said what, lasts about four days on a charge, and keeps recordings on the device as well as online, so nothing gets lost if your signal drops. On the Pro plan, summaries can flow straight into tools like ClickUp (and other task management platforms), Google Drive and ClickUp. The device works with iPhone and Android, and you can read, search and share your notes from the Mac, Windows or web apps too. The device is around US$129 as a one-off (Roughly $200AUD). Recording, transcripts and summaries are free with no monthly cap. Pro (US$19.99/month, billed yearly) keeps your summaries forever and adds sharper accuracy, speaker names and syncing. Unlike most AI recorders, it doesn't ration your minutes.

Best for

People who spend their day in face-to-face meetings, on site or on the phone, and can't take notes at the same time. Great for tradies, consultants and anyone who's ever said "what did we agree on again?"
